What is tin-plated steel?

It is made from a cold rolled steel base that is coated with a thin layer of tin (usually 0.4-2.0 microns per side) by electroplating or hot dip coating. Tin plated steel is used to make a variety of parts, including deep drawn oil filter housings, electronic shielding covers and baking trays. The tin layer on the surface acts as a barrier to protect the steel base from water and air, thus extending the service life of the steel. Tin plating makes it ideal for applications that require rust resistance, electrical conductivity and food safety requirements.

• Selection of steel: select suitable steel as the substrate and perform pretreatment such as cleaning and rust removal.

What is the difference between tinplate and TFS?

TFS is an electrolytic chrome-plated steel sheet with excellent paintability and paint adhesion. Tinplate (ETP) is a tin-plated thin steel sheet with excellent weldability and corrosion resistance. The coating composition of the two is different, so the characteristics are also different.
